Around the world, adolescent girls are at risk of violence, discrimination and lack of equal opportunities. There are some places where it’s really tough.

According to the International Rescue Committee, here are the five most dangerous places for adolescent girls in 2019:

– Niger, the country with the highest rate of child marriage in the world.

– Yemen, where an IRC assessment found that the most vulnerable females are adolescent girls.

– South Sudan, where rates of violence against women and girls are some of the highest in the world.

– Bangladesh, where as a result of the Rohingya crisis, there is a shortage of services for adolescent girls who have experienced violence.

– Central African Republic, where an entire generation has never truly known stability.

These are just a few examples. Adolescent girls face risks in all fragile and conflict settings.

The International Rescue Committee is proud to support girls in these countries and beyond. So they can become powerful agents of change.

To change the world, start with women and girls.
